Laughter. Such a beautiful thing. There are many different kinds of laughs: giggles, chuckles, snorts, etc. Whatever kind it is there is something about it that can’t help but spark a smile. They say laughter is contagious. There is something about seeing and hearing someone laugh, even if you don’t know why it often makes us laugh. Laughter is something about laughter that does a mind, body, and soul good. Even if it is just for a few seconds there is nothing like having a good laugh. One good laugh can make up for a bad day.
They also say that laughter is the best medicine. I believe this couldn’t be more true. When someone is down or sick, being able to laugh can lift one’s spirits. The more able we are to laugh the more positive and happier we are. This makes a huge difference when someone is fighting for their life. It is so important in such moments of darkness and disparity to allow ourselves to laugh. While this is not always easy to do it can really have a huge effect on the human spirit. There is nothing like crying from a good laugh or laughing so much that your sides hurt, or your face hurts from smiling so much. Even better is just when you think you’re done you think about what made you laugh and start all over again.
You don’t have to be a parent to appreciate the sound and power of a child’s laughter. The sound of laughter and miracles. There is no other feeling than hearing your child laugh and giggle without a care in the world. They know nothing of the burdens we carry, they just know what makes them happy and all they want to do is let it out. Such a beautiful sound. The power of laughter is remarkable.
