2/18

I am a baseball fan. I am NOT a Yankees fan. I respect several of their players for the way they play the game and carry themselves both on and off the field. Not that long ago a famous, probably one of the most famous players (regardless of the reason) was in some hot water for using some substances banned from the league (MLB). This player is Alex Rodriguez from the New York Yankees. I can’t stand this guy, and not just because he’s a Yankee. I just don’t care for his attitude both on and off the field. A-Rod, as he is well known in the world of baseball, got in some trouble for using performance enhancing drugs or PEDs. Despite a fair amount of evidence he continued to deny it then was going to sue his own team!?! The nerve of this guy, all the more reason I can’t stand him; he’s a cheater and was caught dead to rights and tried to make it anyone else’s fault while denying it. Well needless to say he finally admitted to using the PEDs, which is cheating. He then just recently issues what is a hand written letter of apology to his fans. It’s crap really and I don’t know that anyone believes him, it’s obvious he is just trying to save face since he is allowed to actually play again. What’s even more comical is that I read an article today about his hand-written letter and a graphologist and she said that his handwriting is feminine and went on to say why. I think this will probably just make even more people believe that he was not the one who wrote the letter to being with. I don’t know if they are even really his words or if this is a PR thing that his publicist or someone from his “camp” decided was a good idea to try to make people more forgiving of him. Bottom line if it’s banned, it’s banned and any use is cheating and violating the league’s rules. Don’t do something you know is wrong and against the rules and then try to turn it around on others all the while denying your part when you practically got caught red handed. If you or me were to violate our employers rules chances are we would get fired without even so much as a chance to explain our side of the story, but not in the world of sports. You can mess up (big time) and still come out smelling like roses with a big fat paycheck.
